I glimpse the vibrant autumn colours though the darkness, mist and rain as I approach the loch. The wind has stirred again this morning too. Like yesterday I choose to walk down to the water' edge.
As I write this journal I begin to reflect on the inadequacy of my words this week. I feel my vocabulary is limited - perhaps not in life generally, or in a professional setting, but certainly in terms of creative writing. I have few adjectives to describe what I see. Maybe that is why I turned to photography.
As I walk along the shore, the patterns and shapes reveal themselves. The golden reeds and the metallic steel shades of the waters is a wonderful colour palette. The surface is choppy and black geometric shapes are formed by the wind churning up the water.
I decide to change my approach today using intentional camera movement to capture the chaotic movement of the loch. For the most part, I use my trusty 70-200mm lens although towards the end of the shoot I have to change to the 50mm to harvest the limited light that remains.
