I am continuing the icy theme for my Image of the Week.  I decided to carry on working through my Antarctica images from 2013 and 2016 and focus on the icy landscapes, with a few guest appearances from the wildlife.  The colours of the ice in the Antarctic Ocean are truly stunning and almost unbelievable.  Some of the images I have chosen were taken on my first trip in Charlotte Bay – it was a dismal, and misty day so the images are less vivid but with amazing reflections – and then others are taken in bright sunlight at the end of our trip in 2016 in the Gerlache Strait and The Melchoirs.

And finally, my Image of the Week.  I clearly remember this moment as a Crabeater Seal clambered onto the ice from the water, but I had not processed it before.  I like the curve of the ice providing a simple foreground in front of the seal, and the wider environment in the background, to provide the context.
