I continued my rephotography in the capital of Skye, Portree.  I had an assistant with me today which really helped in finding the view and trying to rephotograph as faithfully as I could.  It is much harder alone when you have to keep looking down at the original image in a book and then recompose the scene in camera.

This first image shows the busy road down to the pier.  The horse and cart is passing the General Stores now a cafe:

This image proved relatively easy to rephotograph:

I took a number of images down at the pier:

This image created some difficulties as I was struggling to get an angle with the pier wall.  However, I realised that I needed to go down a slipway to take the image.  When I returned to do so, a queue of tourists were waiting to board a boat – so that retake is for another day!

Another image I struggled with in terms of getting the right perspective and same angle of view.  I think I may need to go back and rephotograph my rephotograph and find a lower viewpoint:

In the original image there were no leaves on the trees that gave a view through to Quay Brae.  However, having said that I think I managed to achieve a good rephotograph in terms of replicating the original image:

Tomorrow I will continue my rephotography in and around Broadford.
