As I continue my journey through my photographic archive I decided to evoke some memories of my two trips to the Katmai Peninsula, just off Kodiak Island in Alaska.  I went in search of brown bears. . .  The first three images are from my first trip in 2008 when I was relatively new to wildlife photography and the others from my return in 2012.  In August, when I visit, bears spend most of their time chasing salmon and making a big splash in the process.  They snorkel through the water (see image 2) and generally monkey around (see image 10).

I have enjoyed reliving the wonderful times I spent with the bears in Katmai and I am pushed to choose a favourite but I have decided on the one below as I feel it captures my overwhelming memory of seeing the bears faces through droplets of water.
