Ice

I love the cold places of the world.

I have long been obsessed with the expeditions of Ernest Shackleton (and the photographs of Frank Hurley) and have travelled to The Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica in their footsteps. The wildlife in this area of the world is fascinating as well as the natural ice landscapes and sheer still beauty of the far south.

I also travelled to Churchill in Canada and then onto to the shores of Hudson Bay where I camped on the ice. The images of polar bears show the early morning visitors to camp – a mother and two cubs.

This gallery is a celebration of the natural world in the cold parts of the world showing animal behaviour and wildlife in its environment.
