I have been doing more research into the work of Sophie Calle. I find her work fascinating, for example Suite Venitienne where she documented and photographed a man she met briefly and then followed to Venice. The Address Book is again based on the chance find of someone’s address book on a Paris street.

Although Calle did actually return the book to its owner, but not before she had photocopied it. She then systematically contacted and documented his friends and acquaintances. In doing so, she claims to have found out as much about herself as those whom she met as a consequence of this project.

For me the interest is in how Calle chose to exhibit this work. She presented her images and words as literally a book on the wall. This is an interesting and possible option for my exhibition and book publication for my Final Major Project.
