Poppies Hotel, Callander – Alison Price, April 2019
After lots of work printing, mounting and framing my images it was finally the day we unpacked and hung the fruits of my labour – in time for the start of their busy season – Easter.

Poppies Hotel, Callander
After showing John and Susan some examples of my work in both black and white and colour we agreed upon nine framed prints in colour showing the essence of the Isle of Skye. Many of their guests travel on or are returning from the Island and are looking for something to remind them of their time on the Misty Isle.
The nails were already in the walls of the restaurant and bar so it was a quick and easy job to hang them ready for the breakfast serving the next day. While I would have preferred to group the images in threes rather than spread them across the room John and Susan were delighted with how they look.

Even this small-scale project was a lot of work choosing, printing, mounting and framing a small number of images. In terms of lessons learned as far as presenting work is concerned I think 40 x 50 framed prints are quite small in anything but an intimate space and I need to bear this in mind as I think about a possible exhibition for my Final Major Project.
